Sensory Processing
The terms Sensory Processing and Self-Regulation are often used interchangeably. As an Occupational Therapist, I am passionate about helping people understand how they process the sensory information from their environment and how it impacts their lived experience.
Sensory processing experiences are individualized, like a snowflake, there isn't a right or wrong, just different. How we respond to various sensory inputs, such as touch, sight, smell, taste, sound, and movement impacts our learning, behavior (self-regulation), and social interactions with family and friends.
Learn about your sensory preferences and if they fall in the typical, moderate difference, or definite difference range. Understanding your sensory responses may improve your self-regulation (energy & tolerance) for everyday living.
